Following the abolition of Employment Tribunal fees in July 2017, Employment Tribunal claims have been on the rise, massively. In Q2 2018 the number of single Employment Tribunal claims lodged increased by 165% compared with the same quarter in 2017.

In terms of compensation awarded, disability discrimination cases had the largest average award of £30,700. Of particular note, the average award for unfair dismissal awards was £15,007 which has doubled over the last few years.
